At the varsity level, DGS scored 34 points to take home the team title for the 24th year in a row. Nora Joy (Sr) led the Mustangs with her 3rd place finish. In the rush to respond to Garcia’s move, Nora found herself in 4th place, but fought hard to push all the way into 2nd place. Unfortunately, Amelie Ojeda (So) from Willowbrook had another gear was able to pass Nora back in the last 50m of the race.

Sophie Ring (Jr) ran in 5th place nearly the entire race. She was being chased by Lettia Hoda (Sr) from Addison Trail, but Sophie safely pulled away over the last mile to finish in 5th place overall. Skyler Tomecki (Sr), Greta Paschall (So), and Lindsay Spear (Sr) ran together for most of the race battling runners from Willowbrook, Leyden, and Addison Trail. Over the last mile, Skyler pulled away to finish 7th, Greta placed 9th, and Rachel Rodi (Jr) who had been further back most of the race, charged to the finish in 10th place. Lindsay fell back a little at the end, but still managed a strong 13th place. All six varsity runners for DGS finished earning All-Conference honors.
