DGS wins IHSA Regional!
The DGS girls cross country team won the IHSA Regional for the 6th year in a row! The Mustangs outdueled the host Sandburg Eagles by scoring 20 points to Sandburg’s 59 points. Sophia McNerney (Sr) was the overall race winner with an outstanding time of 16:57. Kelsey Casella (Sr) was the runner-up with a time of 17:46. Nora Joy (Jr) and Madi Sisson (Sr) worked together to move up throughout the race and place 4th and 5th respectively with PR times of 18:39 and 18:44. All four DGS girls earned All-Regional honors with thier top 5 finishes. Sophie Ring (So) completed the Mustang scoring with her 8th place finish in 19:02. And Rachel Rodi (So) and Alex Spang (Sr) both placed in the top 10, finishing in 9th and 10th places with times of 19:08 and 19:12. The Mustangs travel to Katherine Legge Park in Hinsdale next Saturday for the IHSA Sectional and the opportunity to qualify for the State Meet.
