Niles West Invite Results!

On Saturday, the F/S and JV teams traveled to Niles West HS for the Pat Savage Invitational. The inclement weather proved to be a factor in the team’s performance as well as a mental obstacle for many of our runners.

In the F/S race, the top 3 finishers for the team were Erin Glennon (Fr) placing 12th with a personal best of 21:13, Amanda Annese (So) in 43rd place, and Clare Quirin (So) in 75th place.  Overall, the F/S team finished 14th amongst the 3A  (White Division) schools competing in the meet.

The DGS varsity 8-10 runners and all of our JV athletes competed in the varsity race at Niles West, the Mustangs placed 10th as a team in the 3A division.  Top 3 finishers for the varsity were Gillian Thomas (Jr) placing 26th, Allison Calek (So) placing 34th, and Kara Peterson (Sr) in 37th place.

Although the results may appear a bit disappointing, many runners embraced the rain and showed a great deal of heart in their performance.
