2025 DGS Girls TF season is off and running!
The 2025 Mustangs track & field season is under way! Only a week into the season, DGS has a record number of athletes participating on the girls track & field team. Currently 130 girls are taking part of this winter/spring sport and will hopefully propel the Mustangs on to yet another successful season.
Top returners for the Mustangs are Karen Boakye (Jr) who qualified for the state meet in both the long jump and the triple jump. Kailee Rodeck (Sr) returns as a state qualifier in the pole vault. Allison Mytys (Jr) and Samairah McShan (Sr) return with state meet experience in the 4x100m relay.
The team will hold it’s annual Time Trials night next week on Wednesday in the DGS fieldhouse. Athletes from both the boys and girls teams will compete in the shot put, 55 hurdles, 55m dash, 800m run, and 200m dash. The time trials will give the team a good picture of where they stand on this early February 5th date. The first official team competition will be the Morton Invitational on Saturday, February 15th at Morton West HS.
