Home CC meet on Monday!

The boys and girls CC teams will host the first of four home meets on Monday, August 31 at O’Brien Park. Tomorrow’s conference triangular meet brings both Morton and Leyden to compete against the host Mustangs. There will be one girls race at approximately 4:30pm, followed by one boys race. For the first time in West Suburban Conference history, the dual/triangular meets will NOT count towards the calculation of the WSC Gold division conference championship. When Downers Grove South hosts the conference meet on Saturday, October 17 at O’Brien Park, the results of that meet alone will decide the conference championship.

Currently, the DGS girls team has won 16 WSC Gold conference titles in a row. During this same time period, the Mustangs have won a state record 96 dual meets in a row. Should we defeat both teams tomorrow, the streak will be extended to 98. The streak began in September of 1999.
