Your NEW girls track coaching staff…
The 2016 track & field season is off and running and there have been a few changes to the DGS coaching staff.
Head Coach Egle Staisiunaite has departed. Coach E is training for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She will be competing in the 400m hurdles for Lithuania at the Olympics in August. While she will be missed, we have 3 new coaches that will help make it a smooth transition.
New Staff:
Head Coach Nicole Sanders (sprints/hurdles). Coach Sanders comes to DGS after coaching sprints and hurdles at DGN for the past two seasons. She coached a talented sprint crew at DGN last season, but is currently in the process of swapping out all of her purple clothes for blue.
Asst Coach Michael Farthing (sprints/jumps). Coach Farthing comes to DGS after coaching sprints, hurdles, and jumps at Westmont HS. He adds a lot of technical expertise and experience to our staff.
Asst Coach Carolyn Riha (sprints/jumps). Coach Riha is a former DGS jumper and college athlete.
Returning Staff:
Asst Coach Tim Pinnick (sprints/jumps). Coach Pinnick is in his last season at DGS before retiring to North Carolina. He focuses primarily on the long jump and the triple jump.
