Friday Night Race at State!

On Friday night, following the prelims, the EIU track team will host the Race At State. This is a low-key open track meet that could easily be mistaken for a huge party. The meet is open to anyone that wants to participate (athletes, coaches, parents, siblings, etc). In previous years, we have had athletes who did not qualify for finals as well as athletes who’ve come down to cheer on our qualifiers, and the occasional coach all participate in the Race at State. Traditionally, the 1000m steeplechase has been the start of the show!
- The cost is $5 per athlete for 2 events and $10 for 3 or more events.
- Registration for the races begins at 6:30 pm.
- Races begin at 6:45 pm.
- Races usually last until approximately 9:00 pm.
The events will be run in the following order:
- 300m Hurdles
- 1600m Run
- 100m Dash
- 400m Dash
- 800m Run
- 3200m Run
- 1000m Steeplechase
