The DGS girls track & field team had a great showing at the April 9 Mustang Invitational on Saturday. The Mustangs took 1st place out of 8 teams on the varsity level winning 6 of the 18 events.  The F/S team took 2nd place out of 8 teams winning 3 events.  Full results can be found HERE.

As has been the case all season, Shaliyah Dixon-Tucker (Sr) and Michaela Hackbarth (Sr) led the varsity team to score 131 pts compared to the 96 pts of 2nd place team Lyons Township. Dixon-Tucker won 3 individual events (100m dash, 100m hurdles, and 200m dash) and anchored the winning 4x100m relay. Hackbarth won 2 individual events (400m dash and 800m run) and anchored the 2nd place 4x400m relay. Lauren Wong (Sr) added to first place frenzy, winning the 300m hurdles.  Shaliyah’s prelim time in the 100m hurdles (12.12 seconds) was both a meet record and a DGS outdoor school record. Michaela’s 800m time (2:15.71) was also a meet record. Joining Dixon-Tucker on the 1st place 4x100m relay were Soren Umali (Jr), Nicole Muccianti (Jr), and Arianna Finely (Sr).

Alexus Allen (So) led the F/S team with two first place finishes (long jump and 200m dash).  Kelley Hackbarth (So) kept the 800m dominance in the family by winning the 800m run.
