The DGS varsity came home with the majority of the hardware at last night’s WSC Gold meet.  Shaliyah Dixon-Tucker led the way winning 4 individual events and setting 2 meet records in the process. Shaliyah won the 55H in 8.39 (meet record) followed closely by Soren Umali in 8.54, giving DGS the best hurdle duo in the state so far.  Her other meet record came only minutes later as she won the 55m in a fast 7.22 time.  Shaliyah also won the high jump (4’10”) and a very close race in the 200m (26.69). Both Abby Kargol and Michaela Hackbarth were double individual winners with Abby winning the 3200m in 11:43.43 and the 1600m in 5:20.33.  Michaela won the 800m in 2:29.28 and the 400m in 1:01.57.  Those 2 races were big points for DGS as we finished 1-2 in both. Amanda Thate was runner-up in the 800m and Rachel Petro was runner-up in the 400m.  Rachel was also a meet champion in the 300m with a time of 43.05.  The Mustangs also won all 3 relay events.  The 4x800m team of Maggie Seitz, Megan Ocampo, Mary Beine, and Liz Alcantara took first place.  The 4x160m relay team of Nicole Muccianti, Lauren Wong, Ariana Finley, and Soren Umali won a hard fought victory. And the 4x400m relay team of Lauren Wong, Mary Beine, Maggie Seitz, and Michaela Hackbarth finished the evening off with a convincing win. Overall, it was a great night to be a Mustang!
