Illinois Top Times Meet Qualifiers

DGS will be well represented at this year’s Top Times meet on Saturday, March 28th.  The meet is considered the ‘unofficial indoor state meet’ and serves as an exciting conclusion to the 10 weeks of indoor track & field competition in Illinois.  Invitations to compete are based on the times and distances achieved throughout the indoor portion of the season.  The number of participants who are selected in each event is limited to 12-15 athletes in most events, so it’s considered an honor to have qualified.  This year, the Mustangs will have 11 athletes competing in 6 individual events and all 3 relays. Shaliyah Dixon-Tucker (Jr) and Nicole Muccianti (So) will both compete in the 60m dash.  Shaliyah’s qualifying time ranks her 6th among this year’s ITT competitors. Dixon-Tucker will be joined by Soren Umali (So) in the 60m hurdles and both Mustang athletes are ranked in the top 5 going into the meet.  The two of them are the state’s best duo in the hurdle event so far this season as both look to make the finals and finish high.  Abby Kargol (Sr) will be running the 3200m for the 3rd straight year and is currently seeded #3 overall.  Abby finished 4th in this meet last year and went on to place 5th overall at the outdoor state meet.  Michaela Hackbarth (Jr) will be running the 800m race and her seed time makes her the top seed and favorite in the event!  Michaela is coming a great sophomore season last Spring where she placed 2nd overall in the 800m at the outdoor state meet and is looking to move up this year. The 10th ranked 4x800m relay team will be Amanda Thate (Sr), Mary Beine (Sr), Jill Boyle (Jr), and Maggie Seitz (Jr).  The 8th ranked 4x200m relay quartet will be Nicole Muccianti, Rachel Petro (Sr), Soren Umali, and Shaliyah Dixon-Tucker.  Finally, the 6th ranked 4x400m relay team will be Rachel Petro, Lauren Wong (Jr), Mary Beine, and Michaela Hackbarth.
